After months of intense touring and dance routines Britney Spears appears to be more eager than ever to show off her toned tummy. And while the singer's stomach the flattest it has been in years, her dress sense has not improved. The 27-year-old Womanizer singer looked like a poor man's version of Daisy Duke from Dukes of Hazzard.

She wore tiny denim hotpants with a sheer floral purple shirt, undone and tied back from the waist down and with a red satin bra underneath.

Instead of sexy Daisy Duke heels or even ballet flats, she pulled on a pair of shiny pink ski-style boots with a fur trim, and accesorised with her favourite leopard-print purse.

The mother-of-two, who is gearing up to release her latest single '3', was shopping at discount department Target in Los Angeles for the second time in two days.

She visited yesterday with two minders and escorted by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department. On Tuesday, she arrived with a minder dressed in a white maxi dress with a rip in the front and bought a Michael Jackson CD.

But during yesterday's trip she spent longer in the store, browsing the clothing aisles and bed linen.
She then went to California Pet Center in Calabasas to buy a pet parakeet. The star has just returned back home after finishing up the North American run of Circus shows in Las Vegas at the weekend. Britney has weeks off her show until November, when she heads to Australia for a string of six shows.
