Britney may or may not want to face it, but she's no Spring chicken anymore. The singer turned 30 last month, which is young, but in star-time—and given Britney's grueling last decade—she safely could be considered middle-aged.

Yet, Britney Spears keeps proving she's still got what it takes to do what she's best at, topping the pop charts. She was just listed on MTV's weekly "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week."
Along with Lana Del Rey, Nicola Roberts, Emeli Sande, and Neon Hitch, Spears is holding her spot with "Look Who's Talking Now." Her record label said she's taking a break in 2012 to spend time with family and friends. No doubt, this also means a lot of time with new fiancé Jason Trawick.
This time her "break" appears to be the good kind—unlike Spears' forced hiatus following her public breakdown in 2008. If Britney Spears can manage to stay on track and keep her name in charts, she's likely to follow in the steps of divas such as Mariah Carey, who also took a "rest" after bizarre behavior and a break-up with crooner Luis Miguel. Carey recovered into a loving wife and mother and regained her reputation.
It seems Spears is settling into her 30s quite comfortably. Unlike some stars who start out young and then end up members of the lonely girls' club, literally still clubbing and showing off their old dance moves, it looks like Spears wants to be a grown-up.
According to Forbes, she just rented a "palatial" house in the "more suburban" community of Thousand Oaks, California. Before this, Spears lived in a prestigious house in a high-security lock and key enclave, Hidden Hills, which J Lo, the Osbournes and the Kardashians also call home.
Forbes states Britney Spears has had 10 homes since she was 18 and hit it big. Six of those 10, she's purchased. The others, she rented.
It's not clear how long Spears will continue renting this new home, but it could be a sign that she's settling down--possibly planning a new baby's room--and hopefully, enjoying a very successful marriage and career.
