Britney Spears and her fiancé, Jason Trawick, are celebrating the holidays in the Big Apple. A source tells us the couple are staying at the Mondrian Soho and on Wednesday night celebrated a girlfriend's birthday at The Darby on W. 14th St.
The insider says Spears, 30, and Trawick, who used to work in ad sales at the Daily News in the 1990s, were ensconced in a private booth, and the "Baby One More Time" singer behaved herself. "She stuck to water," while dining on chef Alex Guarnaschelli's menu, says our insider.Lady Rizo and the Darby's house band gave a nod to the pop star's presence when they serenaded her with a cover version of her hit song, "Toxic."
"She had a blast," says the source, who added that the couple left the restaurant and headed back in the direction of Mondrian "hand in hand."Trawick, who used to manage Spears until he became romantically involved with her, proposed to his girlfriend of more than a year on Dec. 15, his 40th birthday.
The following morning, Spears tweeted the news to her almost 12 million followers: "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!!"
