Even though it’s been close to a month that Sonu had sent thepiece to Britney, he didn’t want to talk about it because the album was Britney’s. This development comes close on the heels of Lady Gaga declaring that she is coming to Mumbai in October.
“It’s her album and it should be her prerogative to talk about it. Just a day back, I got a call about Britney wanting to personally tweet me and share her excitement of getting into Bollywood music. For them, movies and music are separate,” says Sonu on the phone in between his shooting for a music video in Leh.
Britney tweeted last night, “Watch out Bollywood, it’s Britney and Sonu!” And Sonu responded with a “India loves you Britney. Welcome to Bollywood. Am loving the fact that it’s our collaboration.”Sonu, however, admits that he didn’t meet Britney personally for the project and hence wouldn’t be able to talk about her.
“World over, collaborations are done that way. I recorded my piece here and sent it over to her and she liked it. Also, she let me compose and write the lyrics for her too. I really liked the way she completely trusted me with it,” he adds. So is Britney planning to visit India again? “I don’t know. But I hope she comes down and let us host her,” he ends.
